Crescent began with Noura, after a box of her grandmother's things arrived from Cairo. Inside, between the recipes and old photographs, was a single page of Arabic calligraphy — a verse her grandmother had copied out by hand the year she left Egypt.
She didn't want to frame it. She wanted to wear it.
That idea became Crescent — built with her older brother and a close friend — a collection that carries a verse, a homeland, a name, country by country.
